Media Dinner – Showcasing Estonia’s Defence & Cyber Innovation
About the event
Estonia – the home of agile, advanced defence!
This dinner brings together senior journalists, Estonian defence and cyber companies, and representatives of the Estonian state for a discussion on resilience, security and defence capability.
The evening will examine how Estonia’s experience has shaped its approach to cyber security, digital infrastructure and defence technology. Since the cyberattacks of 2007, Estonia has treated resilience as a design principle across government, critical systems and the wider digital economy. That experience has helped create a defence ecosystem with growing relevance for the UK and its allies.
Against that wider national context, the discussion will explore how cyber resilience, secure communications, autonomous systems and counter-UAS capability now sit at the heart of modern defence. Drones and wider autonomous systems are only as effective as the digital infrastructure, positioning, timing and communications they depend on. Equally, contested airspace now requires the ability to detect, identify and respond to low-cost aerial threats quickly, reliably and at scale.
This is not simply a showcase of individual businesses. It is a conversation about the conditions that produced them, and what other countries, including the UK, may be able to learn from that experience.
