About the event

In a world shaped by digital advancement and pristine natural beauty, Estonia stands out as a small nation with remarkable achievements. Our purpose is to help illuminate the path toward a sustainable society and support the ambitions of the Paris Agreement and the UNFCCC.

Estonia is a committed advocate for environmental stewardship and climate action, pursuing climate neutrality by 2050 through aligned efforts across sectors. This transition is not only an environmental necessity but also an economic opportunity, with green innovation, environmental products, technology, and services driving a new economy and creating competitive advantages for companies and countries alike.

Rooted in a culture of innovation, Estonia embraces an adaptive mindset and has implemented pioneering initiatives in e-governance, e-voting, B.Green, mobility, and cleantech. Recognised globally as a digital society, Estonia has built a thriving startup ecosystem with one of the highest per capita rates of unicorn startups, supported by close collaboration between the public and private sectors.

Over the past three decades, Estonia has become a global IT development hub and home to NATO’s cyber defence cooperation centre. Our commitment to environmental action inspired World Cleanup Day, engaging more than 14.5 million people across 190 countries, while greenhouse gas emissions have fallen by 57.3% despite the challenges of post-Soviet industrial transition. Estonia’s people remain the architects of this transformation.

We’re brewing oils naturally packed with beneficial compounds, using a powerful bioprocess that turns low value by-products like sugars from sawdust and dairy side streams into high-value, sustainable oils. ÄIO has developed three alternative product categories and has over 120 collaboration partners from various industries around the world.

ÄIO’s technology uses a specialized fermentation process that, compared to traditional oil production methods, is much faster, a lot less harmful to the environment, and uses a fraction of the land and water. From food to cosmetics, ÄIO oils are versatile, clean, and ready to shape a healthier, greener world.

ÄIO is a B2B company and our target markets are Europe, UK, USA, Brazil, Singapore. Users, primarily in the food, cosmetics and household products industries, can replace traditional oils (palm oil, coconut oil, animal fats) with ÄIO’s sustainable alternatives. These products are easy to integrate into existing production processes and offer similar or superior performance compared to conventional oils.

Future-shaping fats and oils. Sustainably made.
