Skudo OÜ is an Estonian deep-tech company developing European-made, hardware-based cybersecurity solutions for defence, UAV, and space applications.
Skudo designs FPGA-based cryptographic systems, secure embedded hardware, and deployable communication modules for mission-critical environments where software-only security is not sufficient. The company’s core technology is a verifiable FPGA-based Hardware Security Module (HSM), available as IP cores or integrated hardware, supporting secure key handling, authentication, AES encryption, post-quantum cryptography readiness, and RISC-V based processing.
Skudo’s current defence product portfolio includes SERPE, a low-latency encrypted analogue FPV video system for drones; KIRO, an encrypted Iridium-based satellite telemetry and command module for UAVs, UGVs, and remote assets operating beyond conventional radio range; and secure MAVLink telemetry solutions for drone-to-ground communication.
The company is also developing FPGA-based secure SoC and SDR architectures combining radio processing, hardware cryptography, and embedded control logic for future secure communication systems in space, UAV, and ground applications.
Skudo has demonstrated its FPGA encryption technology in space on ESA’s OPS-SAT mission and has been awarded European Defence Fund projects including HSM4COM, SEQULITE and SIGMA. Its work focuses on secure communications, crypto-agility, low-SWaP design, European technological sovereignty, and independently verifiable hardware security.
