More than 30 outstanding Estonian companies, fashion shows, concerts, energy swings, Nordic food and nature will be presented in Estonian pavilion called “Gallery of_”. The country of digital society will bring along most modern ICT solutions that many countries are still dreaming of.
Estonia is building its own 3 floor and 1010m2 pavilion and the name “Gallery of_” symbolises the concept of the pavilion – it’s like a Gallery of Nordic Cuisine, Gallery of great ICT solutions or Gallery of Nature that Estonia has to offer.
The pavilion comprises three floors of shifting wooden blocks stacked on top of one another as modules – ‘nesting boxes’ which together make up the Estonian gallery. The core elements between the boxes are energy swings that produces kinetical energy and gives people an idea of how much energy is required for simple everyday things like recharging a phone or turning on a light.
The crowning jewel of the Estonian pavilion will be its showcasing of a sport invented by Estonians – kiiking. Swinging more than 7 meters high swing, Estonians are planning an attempt to set a Guinness World Record on Estonia's national day, June 7th.
Skype that was developed by Estonians has create self-speaking user especially for Milano EXPO Estonian Pavilion. It will answer all your questions and teach you many things about this Nordic country.
The ground floor of the pavilion gives visitors the chance to find out essential information about Estonia, to enjoy street food and concerts or fashion shows at the night time.
Next floor will showcase all about Estonian achievements and success stories in a range of areas. The second floor will also host a bar dedicated to rye and craft beer – Ryebar.
The top floor will feature a slice of Estonian nature, including plants and trees characteristic of the Nordic countries. On this floor visitors will also have the chance to find out about Estonian birds and observe the day-to-day lives of animals in Estonian nature through hidden cameras.
Estonia is the only Nordic country presented at the EXPO. Self-built pavilion is located close to the east gate between Oman and Russian pavilions. Estonian national day at EXPO Milan is June 7th.
