Saaremaa has a long history of brewing beer, about which legends are told. However, for a long time, beer has not been brewed on Saaremaa, which is why we decided, in 2013, to turn our old family farm into our very own brewery. We produce craft beers and we currently have two types in production – Rukkiõlu, a rye beer characterised by the typically Estonian flavour of black bread from rye malt, and Kaamos, which is darker and has a spicier flavour. A large number of special brews are being added.
Pöide itself is located on the eastern shore of the island of Saaremaa, among the juniper bushes. The area’s landmark, the Pöide fort, built in the 13th century and currently home to the Maarja church of Pöide, has found its way onto the labels of Pöide beers, due to its historic and architectural significance.
