China Expert, Honorary Consul of Mongolia in Estonia
Liisi Karindi (MA) is a business developer and government advisor who has been working with China and other Asian countries for almost 20 years. After returning to Estonia in 2014, she joined Enterprise Estonia (EAS) to establish the Asia Information Centre which supports Estonian companies with their market entry in Asia. She has also been advising the Estonian government, public and private sector on cooperation with China, foremost within the framework of 16+1 format and Belt & Road Initiative on topics related to logistics, ICT and e-commerce.
Before joining EAS, Liisi worked with the German government-owned company GIZ / German Development Cooperation in China and Mongolia. Her field of work included economic and structural reform issues as well as regional economic cooperation and integration aspects in Asia.
Since 2011, Liisi has also been active as a visiting lecturer at University of Tartu, Tallinn University and Tallinn University of Technology as well as a member of Asia-specific boards at the universities.
In addition, since 2016, Liisi has been trusted with the position as an Honorary Consul of Mongolia in Estonia.
Liisi obtained her MA degree from Heidelberg University, Germany, by specializing in China’s social and economic policies. In addition, she has studied at Tsinghua University in Beijing and at Chinese Culture University in Taipei.
